Doctors are thick as shit. I am not a doctor, always do your own research. This website is opinion not advice, and for educational purposes only. Please speak to your healthcare professional, who has gaslit you, by telling you there’s nothing wrong with you and you’ve simply got psychological problems.

Who we are

Our website address is: https://lymetool.online. Lyme Tools is run by. You can contact us at hello@lymetool.online. For data protection law, we are the “controller” of the personal information described here.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name or username, email address and password (the password is stored securely by WordPress and Ultimate Member).
  • Health Tracker entries, if you use it: the date, your 0 to 10 feeling score, symptoms you tick, whether you mark a Herx reaction or suspected Candida, and any notes you type.
  • My Protocol, if you use it: herbs and supplements you add, your own dose notes, and optional start and stop dates.
  • Diagnosis Registry, if you join: the infections, tests and years you choose to report, and optionally your age band and gender, with your explicit consent.
  • Lab results, if you use it: [add only once this feature is live] test names, dates, values and units that you enter.
  • Booking, if you book a call: the details you give when you book through Cal.com. Payment details are handled by Stripe, and we do not see or store your card number.
  • Technical data: basic information needed to run and secure the site, such as cookies that keep you logged in.

Information about your health is “special category” data. We only collect it if you choose to enter it.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To run your account and provide the tools you ask for. Basis: our contract with you.
  • To store the health information you enter. Basis: your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the separate health-data box when you register. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your entries or your account.
  • To send reminder emails if you turn them on. Basis: your consent. Reminder emails never contain anything from your entries, only a nudge and a link, and each one has a one-click link to turn reminders off.
  • To keep the site secure and working. Basis: our legitimate interests.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

If you use the translation menu, Google sets a cookie in your browser to remember the language you chose. The “Show original English” button removes it.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who can see your information

  • Only you can see your Health Tracker entries, My Protocol list and lab results through the website.
  • We, as the site administrator, can technically access the stored data in the WordPress admin area. We do not read members’ entries except where needed to fix a fault or to respond to a legal request.
  • Our hosting provider ([WordPress.com / Automattic]) stores the site and its database on our behalf.
  • The Diagnosis Registry only ever shows combined totals. Individual entries are never shown. Groups of fewer than 5 people are hidden, and nothing is shown until at least 10 entries exist, so a total cannot point to one person.
  • Doctor’s summary: the summary and PDF are created in your own browser from your entries. They are not saved on or sent to our servers. Once you save or share a PDF, you are responsible for where it goes.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the services listed under “Where your data is sent” below, and where the law requires.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We also use:

  • Cal.com (booking) and Stripe (payment) when you book a paid call, under their own privacy policies.
  • Google Translate if you use the translation menu: the text of the page you are viewing is sent to Google to translate it. Do not use it if you do not want that. We do not send your entries to Google.
  • Reddit: we show the titles and links of recent public posts from r/Lyme. Your browser does not contact Reddit for this; our server does.
  • Content delivery: some page features load code from a public content delivery network (for example the PDF library from cdnjs), which may log technical details such as your IP address.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

We keep your account and your entries until you delete them or ask us to. If you delete your account, your Health Tracker entries, My Protocol items, lab results and registry entries are deleted with it. [State how long backups are kept, and how long booking and payment records must be kept for accounting.]

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Under UK data protection law you can also ask us to correct your information, restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw consent. You can delete your own entries yourself at any time, and WordPress’s personal-data export and erase tools also cover your entries. To use any right, contact [email address]. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Security

We use a secure (HTTPS) connection, keep software updated, and limit who can access the admin area. No online service is completely secure, and your PDF summary and any calendar file you export are only as safe as the place you store them.

Children

This site is not for people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell members by [email / a notice on the site].
